About Port Qasim
Port Qasim was established on 29th June 1973 by the act of Parliament. Its main hub is located in Karachi’s phitti creek of Indus delta region. Its operation was started in 1980 dedicated Iron Ore Coal Berth for the bulk handling of imports of raw materials for Pakistan Steel Mill. This post has 18 berths, that 15 in private sectors with annual capacity of 89 million tons. It is related to energy as well as LNG are being handled. All commodities ranging from minerals oils, edible oil, coal, rice, wheat, cement to fertlizers, general cargo, containers are also handled in this port.
